fcontent[20]='\"A great artist!\"<\/i> - Dirk BrossÈ, ACHILLE VAN ACKER PRIZE CONCERT, April 2008<\/font>';
Brilliant. Absolutely first rate, and Crumpler astonished throughout. Dazzled the ear in technical and purely artistist respects. We were blown away. This young man has the gift, the spirit, and whatever other intangibles it takes to skyrocket to stardom.

I've never heard a soloist, even the big soloists, play a live concert perfectly.... That, in my opinion, was a perfect performance! [on Weber Concerto No. 2 - April 24, 2005]

Wonderful presence! Amazing. Great breath control - [Bryan] should be a singer! [He has an] excellent, great smile [on the stage] - and that's hard to do behind an instrument! [He] had a wonderful communication [his] accompanist. [They] made beautiful music. Thank you! Never thought I'd enjoy a clarinet as much."
I was very impressed with [Bryan's] playing, especially with its passionate expressiveness. Alan and Ayako were also quite taken with [his] performance.

He engaged the audience with his musicianship and his stage presence. Instead of standing rigid and emotionless, he obviously was moved ... by the music, turning the bell of his clarinet to the left and right of the hall and animating his execution as an actor might recite a soliloquy. ... He molded each phrase with what might be called "syntactical logic;" in other words, he was saying something. Crumpler was magnificent throughout the entire [Finzi] Concerto, and he made the work sound better than it actually is.

Artisty and communication is off the scale. Really great! A socks-knocker-offer!
Very nice fluidity... & great character. Beautiful musical ideas & expression. Thank you! It was a very engaging performance.
A powerful presentation. Ability to capture the mood is outstanding.
A charismatic musician, whose performance of Copland's Clarinet Concerto was classy, jazzy and persuasive....

The work held no terrors for Bryan. Soft, rounded tone for the lyrical passages and steely precision for the hair-raising rapid sections. Sassy character.

Thrilling. Superb. Crumpler is wonderfully talented, and I suspect you will hear more of him in the future.
Shows fine control, an evenness of tone throughout his instruments range, and great fluidity. To note but one such moment in this single-movement work, his first entrance, as his clarinet gingerly peeked out through the orchestral bed's overlay, was beautifully realized.
One day people are going to stop talking about Bryan as the brother of Alge Crumpler and will start talking about Alge as the brother of Bryan.

Terrific dynamic contrast. Has a real core to his sound... clean and full-bodied. Very impressive playing! Excellent technical facility. Lots of potential to be a phenomenal player.
Best clarinetist I've ever known.
